House approves $9.7 billion in Sandy flood aid
The 354-67 vote came days after Northeast Republicans erupted over House Speaker John Boehner's decision to delay a vote earlier in the week; all of the no votes were cast by Republicans.
These 67 or so Republicans are the same ones that are strangling our country at every opportunity. They are not interested in deficit reduction. Their votes are based in ideology. They want the Federal government to disappear...period.

Re: We'll just have to learn to get by with less...
Republicans/Conservatives/Tea Partiers often quote and/or refer to our “founding fathers” and their intentions with regard to taxes and the wealthy …oops, the “Job Creators”. They might want to review their history or maybe we should just stop drinking their “Kool-Aid” while listening to them.
In 1811, two years after he left the Presidency, Thomas Jefferson wrote a letter to General Thaddeus Kosciuszko, a hero of the American Revolution.
Jefferson said that he supported taxes (then tariffs, since there was no income tax yet) falling entirely on the wealthy.
As Jefferson explained: “The farmer will see his government supported, his children educated, and the face of this country made a paradise by the contributions of the rich alone, without his being called on to spend a cent from his earnings.”
