This couldn't be happening at a better, political time. LeBuffoon at his ignorant worst.

LePage says Maine will seek to enforce quarantine on nurse

FORT KENT — A nurse who treated Ebola patients in West Africa said Wednesday that she plans to end her voluntary isolation in Maine, leading to a potential showdown with state officials who have vowed to enforce a mandatory quarantine.

Gov. Paul LePage said state police are monitoring the Fort Kent home where nurse Kaci Hickox is staying to ensure her protection as well as the safety of the community, he said.

Hickox, who volunteered in Africa with Doctors Without Borders, was the first person forced into New Jersey's mandatory quarantine for people arriving at Newark Liberty International Airport from three West African countries.

"Our position (Siegel/Hickox) is very simple. There's no justification for the state of Maine to quarantine her. She has no symptoms and therefore she's not contagious. And she's not at a risk to the public or the health and welfare of people in the state of Maine," he said.

He (LeBuffoon) said he had hoped Hickox would voluntarily comply with Maine's restrictions, which go beyond Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines that recommend only monitoring for health care workers who have treated Ebola patients but show now symptoms.

FORT KENT — A Maine judge gave nurse Kaci Hickox the OK to go wherever she pleases, handing state officials a defeat Friday in their bid to restrict her movements as a precaution against Ebola.

It amazes me that Maine's Republicans went for this bozo over Les Otten.  Just amazing...

This Ebola hysteria so reminds me of the HIV hysteria of the 80s and 90s.  LeBuffoon's statement: "We don't know what we don't know about Ebola" is reminiscent of the initial attitude toward HIV.  We know a lot about Ebola, as much as we know about HIV.

Fox News has been pushing/reporting that 80% of Americans support LeBuffoon's Ebola quarantine position.

I believe it.

Americans are generally ignorant about most current events.  Americans tend to rely on their elected officials and the media to handle things for them.  But, Maine has LeBuffoon, ignorance personified, to look out for us.  Nationally, we have the Tea Party that will do anything to make Obama look bad.  Go back and review what's happened in this country the last month or two regarding Ebola.  Try and find the origin of this hysteria.  Ebola hysteria is not rooted in medicine or science, but politics and conservative media.  If the president were a white, conservative Republican, this would not be happening.

Here are some examples of how conservative media spreads misinformation:

George Will on Fox News Sunday: Some doctors say Ebola can be transmitted through the air by "a sneeze or some cough." <  > This statement is rated FALSE by PunditFact

John McCain on CNN: "We were 'told' there'd be no Ebola in the United States." <  > This statement is rated FALSE by PunditFact

Morgan Brittany on WND: "According to a government supplier of emergency products, the Disaster Assistance Response Team was told to be prepared to be activated in the month of October for an outbreak of Ebola." <  > This statement is rated Pants on Fire by PunditFact

Allen West in a Tweet: "U.S. troops are getting only 4 hours of Ebola training before deployment to Liberia." <  > This statement is rated Mostly False by Pundit Fact

Brit Hume on Fox News Sunday: Obama is "sending a much larger (force) " to deal with Ebola "than ISIS is getting." <  > This statement is rated False by PunditFact

And why do they do it?  Blind hatred for everything Obama.
