RVFP Portal

It's been suggested to me that if the portal portion of this forum were removed that we would have a higher google rating. I thought I might experiment with removing it for a while. Will anyone truly miss it??

the portal is the only way to see the most current activity. Most of us probably don't wake up and say " gee, i need to respond to that post about ice skating rules from last week!" but if we see a new comment it's often a stimulus to read it and maybe respond. Just my opinion.

Xmashen, if from the home page you click RVFP to open the list of threads, the right hand column will show all the latest posts.

Let me clarify. If you search for "Rumford Free Press" in Google, you end up here - http://rumfordfreepress.blogspot.com/. The last update on this section is November 3, 2008.

Instead, it would be better to eliminate that section altogether and have the entry page be this, https://rivervalleyfreepress.forumotion.com/river-valley-free-press-f1/

And instead of having the title (which is used for bookmarking purposes in addition to search engine viability) be RVFP Portal, call it simply Rumford Free Press, or River Valley Free Press, or whatever.

When I first joined, I used to use the portal, but I found that I actually missed a lot of posts. I find it less confusing to start from the home page.
