Baby, It's COLD outside!!

At 7 am it was -14.2 degrees at my house, thankfully I've got no frozen pipes! How cold is it at your house??

Balmy out in the country...only -12. My house is actually pretty warm this morning. Nice day for voting, huh?

-12 here too....................I hate the cold.

Where and when can we vote? I noticed that there's a taco salad supper at the Legion at 5 today.

Okay, right now it's minus 15 here in Rumford Point. In prep I filled up the gas tank and turned on the electric blanket. I wore my ski pants around town all day on errands. I sent my kids out with new gloves and of course one pair is lost already. Ahhhh, winter in Maine. T - bet you're jealous!

I'm jealous T!! It is minus 17.1 at my house so far. I'm SO SO looking forward to spring!!

i heard from a friend its 84 degrees where he is right now in california i asked him to send some our way but he wont...lol

Minus 26 this morning...I might drive the kids to school instead of have them outside at all.

It is -25 at my house. I think 20 above is much too cold.

It was -27 here, and a balmy 52 in my kitchen. Dr. I think anything below 45 is too cold!

Adventures of Mom continued...my car's temperature gauge was in the red by the time I dropped first child at high school and the car smelled like anti-freeze. I called Adley's and they said to bring it in.

After dropping my other child at the middle school, the car died at the bottom of Harlow Hill, right in the middle of morning bus traffic. Some extremely wonderful people stopped to see if I was okay and then two guys pushed my car over to the Free Store parking lot, safe and out of traffic. I crossed the street to Mexico One-Stop where the manager or owner offered me a free cup of coffee and treated me as if I were a guest in his house...very kind.

I called a friend who had a meeting at Region 9 but he took the time to go out of his way to bring me to Adley's. I called another friend who came out from Hanover to get me...now I'm home sans car but not to worry...it will all work out. Thank God for all the angels in the community!!

Glad you're home- safe and warm. It's nice to know there are still angels out there no matter how cold it is!

Glad you guys are enjoying the cold front I sent your way! It seemed like it was going to stay over Alaska forever. Cool trick for your kids to try, we had some children in Fairbanks blow bubbles outside and they froze before popping. I'm trying to find pictures of them to post. Not sure what temperature works. I know it was -60 when it was done here but -20 might work.

I have always maintained that despite what you read in the paper or see on the tv, there ARE good people out there. They just don't make the news. Believe it or not, the good people far outnumber the bad people. Every once in a while, we all need alittle help from strangers. It is rare that someone does not stop, if only to see if you are alright, as happened with timeout. Hopefully, it is a reaffirmation of our faith in others.

My first time in a police cruiser since first grade! I hope they don't post this on TRR as "Timeout busted for busted thermostat"

Driving home from town last night, the temperature gauge red-lined again...still has air in the system (ahhh, but I know how to fix it myself now!) Anyway, didn't have the right tool so I pulled over by the Madison to let the car cool off. In the meantime I was cooling off rapidly myself. A member of the RPD pulled up and let me sit in the back of the cruiser for a minute or two until my car was "well" enough to drive home...thank you to RPD and more town angels.
