Jennifer,
I am using this web site to address you because it is a safe place for me to do so. If I were to send a letter to the editor of The Rumford Reporter, it would not get printed and you would accuse me of stalking you.

You call those of us who post anonymously "cowards". In most cases, I would easily and comfortably reveal myself to someone I take issue with. In this case, NO! Am I afraid of you? YES! I have seen how vicious you can be: You have attacked and threatened many individuals, the fire department, the police department, the Catholic school, the town office employees, and citizens of particular locations which you deem problematic. (I'm sure there are many other citizens, groups and organizations bobbing in the wake of your wrath, but you get the gist.) Just yesterday you threatened one of the selectmen. I believe that threat to be based on paranoia and extremely illogical thinking. It appears that you have a lot of repressed and irrational anger, and I worry that you might be dangerous.

I am thankful for the opportunity to post anonymously because I do fear your wrathful and uncontrolled vengeance. Also, you have a gun.................I do not.

I wonder if the latest surge in anger comes from the loss of Rumford as a casino site and the hearings on a friend. The battle has been fought and lost on locating the casino in Rumford. TRR, take time to calm down and sort things out...it could be time to refocus onto something new. Sometimes we keep fighting the battle because we don't realize it's over. The person we damage most is ourselves. Jennifer is a passionate person and very loyal to her friends - these are not bad qualities. They can also be destructive when another person is allowed to use those qualities to fight their own battles. I've said it before - it's hard to tell who's using who - I don't think Jennifer is driving the bus...

I agree with you; I don't think she's "driving the bus" either. I think she bulldozing her own trail in a tank with the gun swivelling.

Think about it - Kevin had a strong following when he had his well-visited web site. After he lost the widespread voice of that site due to his own personal disagreement with their methods, the crowd dumped him and took up with Jennifer...she will probably be next. Think of the amount of fear and anger anyone would have when they realize that this is somewhat true...she essentially gave up her future dreams of municipal leadership for membership in this club - a high price to pay.

For the sake of clarity I don't compare anything Kevin has written with TRR's postings - Kevin's not in the club because he wouldn't stoop to that level (even though we disagree on 50% of everything Cool )

I was defending my right to post anonymously. I'm actually supporting JSN's allegation of being a "coward" and I gave my reasons............she's a scary woman.

From MSNBC
McCaain:
I don't trust Obama," a woman said. "I have read about him. He's an Arab."

McCain shook his head in disagreement, and said:

"No, ma'am. He's a decent, family man, a citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues and that's what this campaign is all about."

He had drawn boos with his comment: "I have to tell you, he is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States."

Obama:
"I appreciated his reminder that we can disagree while still being respectful of each other," Obama told supporters in Philadelphia. He said McCain "has served this country with honor, and he deserves our thanks for that."

This really isn't too much different that what's been going on between the TRR and RFP. It's easy to get polarized when you are in conflict with others.

The TRR may actually believe that they are helping the town with their behavior. There is really nothing wrong with a respectful dialogue between members of the community that disagree with each other. In fact, as we've said before, we think is actually quite healthy... as long as it stays respectful.

Steve and I have very different opinions on the presidential candidates. We had what I believe to be a healthy dialogue, around our beliefs. Towards the end I think we even found some common ground. We both believe in capitalism and we both don't want to see a "redistribution" of income. I would still like to see the poor taxed less; he seems to believe that the rich pay far too much in taxes. So what? We're both entitled to our opinions. I respect Steve for engaging in this dialogue in such a respectful way.

Things get bad when these differences of opinion become personal, and we have seen that way too much on these bogs. It's not the differences in opinions in town that originally caused the RFP and the RVFP to exist. It's the personal nature of the attacks on people. That is wrong and it's the main reason we have so much strife in this community. As long as it continues, the battle will wage on.

Members of our community are angry at the way the TRR has hurt so many residents of this community. Many are outraged. The TRR has been a powerful influence in this community but their power has been largely based on their ability to attack anyone that stands in their way on their road to making sure they get what they want.

When people engage in such behavior, they usually end up hurting themselves as well as their targets.

In response, members of this forum have been pretty hard on members of the TRR. If anyone were to track the dates of these posts, they would easily see a pattern of us rebuking the TRR after they were blatantly hurtful to others, like they most recently were to Selectman Adley.

You can feel the hate and scorn in that article. As others have said on here, I don’t believe that people that engage in behavior like this should be representing this town in any capacity.

BTW, as I’ve said before, Selectman Adley has nothing to do with this site. I don’t believe he has even posted on it. We hope he reads it. We hope all the selectmen and town officials read it. We hope that it sometimes give some fresh perspectives that are so healthy to have in town.

If I were to write an open letter to the TRR, it would once again ask them to stop their personal attacks that have wreaked so much havoc on our town. I would ask them to engage in respectful dialogue about our differences of opinion. I would ask that we learn how to disagree without being disagreeable.

TRR, the ball is in your court…

An open letter to JSN Empty Re: An open letter to JSN

Post by Guest Sun Oct 12, 2008 6:33 am

Good morning Jennifer,
I like the new look of your site. It's the content that offends me. (But I bet you're glad that I'm offended because that seems to be such a big part of your purpose and intent.)

To start: Taking issue with Brad Adley because he suggested that the selectmen stay out of the casino thing until after the referendum is one thing. ( Though I applaud his motion.) Indignantly blaming him for the casino people choosing Oxford over Rumford is absolutely ridiculous. And what is even more absurd is that you managed to (yes, folks, this is true...) blame Brad Adley for Seth Carey being "unconstitutionally effective". (I believe that charge actually came from a court judge, but never mind, you use it in whatever way suits your purpose.) Really, there is a blatant disconnect from reality here.
But, I think I've uncovered your twisted scheming: You probably think that if you go after Brad Adley, you also manage snipe Jolene Lovejoy, because in your mind, the two are interconnected. And I'm sure Steve Eldridge fits in there somewhere. The "Vendetta Brigade" strikes again.

To continue: Nice to see that you didn't stoop to posting as "a concerned citizen" but actually chose a nice name -- R Ortez (I like the ethnic ring....)-- to attack Chief Carter. How "stupid" of him to be out there just LOOKIN' for crime!!! Imagine! You'd think he had much better things to do with his time!

Keep up the intelligent reporting

Good Morning Jennifer,
You have stated that you think you and Sarah Palin are a lot alike. With all the stuff that's coming out about Palin and her unethical ways, I have to concede that you're right!

Jennifer,
One more thing: Where does your intense anger with the police department come from? Surely it cannot stem from two of your friends being ticketed for being in violation of the law. That wouldn't make sense. I'd like it if you'd share with me the true reasons for your outrage.
Thanks,

Hi Jennifer,
The following is from the front page of your site:

"Welcome to the Rumford Reporter! We encourage letters to the editor from our valued readers. Please provide your name and contact information in the event we have any questions for you. This will also help us to authenticate that the letter is actually from you. Please send letters to the editor to oops.com"

I have a question: Were you able, and did you, authenticate the letter from R Ortez? Just wondering................The police are probably out looking for her now.

Good morning, Jennifer,
I just came across the following on your site:

"Posted by BUG as in VINTAGE BUG: I can only speak for myself (unlike you-know-who) but I had nothing whatsoever to do with hacking her site. What she has posted is an outright lie and I want her to retract it and apologize for her untruths against me. My posting at whatever time confirms nothing except that I was going back and forth between sites. Anything wrong with that? (Yea, maybe it shows how silly and neurotic I can be, but she has no say in that.) And what is this "common denominator" thing about? It has nothing to do with me. She gets away with writing whatever she wants. Isn't it time for her to stop this crap?"

This was something I posted on the River Valley Free Press. It appears that you have lifted it from this site and posted it on your own. Isn't this a copyright infringement by you? Didn't you do some complaining a while back about this very thing? Don't you think you should take some action to correct this injustice?

Thank you for your consideration.

I wouldn't hold my breath for any response, bug. She's a bit busy right now as the head GOP cheerleader, practicing her splits. Plus, she never responds on this site. she will wait and do some personal (non-vendetta of course) thing on HER site.

But, she still reads every word posted here. We're influencing her behavior by drawing attention to her and her website, e.g., the deletion of the R. Ortez letter. I don't believe we will see such posts on her website again as too much pressure was brought to bear. She can't stand the heat.

For anyone that followed the sad story of Kaley Thomas, the missing child in Florida whose mother Casey was recently indicted for murder… remember that at one point Casey gave the name of a nanny that she had entirely made up… The owner of that name surfaced and is justly bringing suit against her. If the real R. Ortez is out there, I can put you in touch with a good lawyer (who didn’t need 5 tries to pass the bar).

How hypocritical can this woman get? She frequently judges others as "cowards" for posting anonymously, yet, on her own blog (and who knows where else) she secretly posts things signed "concerned citizen" or "R Ortez". Pathetic.....

I await her sanctimonious bible post for the week.
