Paul LePig senior staff was involved in budget discussions

AUGUSTA (AP) — Gov. Paul LePig's staff was engaged with lawmakers during behind-the-scenes budget negotiations even as the governor railed against legislative leaders and said he had "no clue" what they were going to adopt, a newspaper (PPH Link) reported Thursday.

The Portland Press Herald obtained documents under the Freedom of Access Act that indicate LePig's senior staff was aware of details of what was being negotiated by legislative leadership. The governor's deputy finance chief provided the final analysis before party leaders briefed their caucuses on the agreement.

Michael Allen, who advises LePig on tax policy, updated LePig's senior staff on the details on June 15.

On June 16, LePig told Boston radio talk-show host Howie Carr that "I have no clue what they're passing   ".

Even though negotiations were not secret, LePig accused legislative leaders of backroom dealings , and that they "checked their character and integrity at the door."

Even though LePig knew exactly what was going on, "We were not invited to the table during the final negotiations on the budget".

Mark Eves: "It is disingenuous for Gov. LePig to suggest that he was unaware of our detailed plans or goals when his top administrators and appointees were providing the analysis of the impact of each proposal".

Senate President Mike Thibodeau, Republican-Winterport, said the assistance from Allen and Maine Revenue Services was critical to helping leadership complete the budget talks.  He said the LePig's repeated criticism    of the negotiating process had "overshadowed much of the good in the budget."

Candy Casey is a liar too.  She and LePig are cut from the same cloth, and yet, the Tea Party sheeple will follow their types right over a cliff.

Here's a recent example of one of Candy's lies.  It is in reference to President Obama's intention to nominate Mike Michaud to a federal post leading the Department of Labor agency dealing with veterans training and employment.

Michaud was the head of the Veterans Affairs Committee through all of that failing of veterans and even more so, failing to do a thing about it other than slapping himself and others like him on the back with a good job thrown in. Michaud is no friend of veterans and never has been.

This is an outright lie, and Candy knows it. Mike Michaud was NEVER " the head of the Veterans Affairs Committee".  Mike Michaud was never the "head" or chair of any VA committee while in Congress.  Mike Michaud was the ranking Democrat and chair (2010-11) of a subcommittee of the Veterans Affairs Committee, nothing more. Candy knows this but doesn't care.  She is in such lock-step with the Tea Party/Republican Party propaganda machine that the truth and facts don't matter.

Candy's vitriol is partly due to the allegedly inept VA hospital system.  Well Candy, FYI - the VA Committee doesn't run the VA hospital system.

Then, like LePig, Candy doubles down with her lie.  There is an old saying that if you tell a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.  Candy practices this technique on a regular basis. And lest we forget, Candy and LePig tell it like it is.
