Well said, Steve. Perhaps people can try to temper their sarcasm a bit on this forum as it doesn't contribute to the issues. That is why we separated the TRR threads, we understand those topics generate those type responses. We really don't need too see them in the rest of the forum though.

I read in the SunJournal today that Palin would be making a pit stop in Bangor. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in attending an Anti Palin Rally on that day and time. We have had 3 or 4 in Alaska so far and they had the largest attendance of any protest/rally since statehood. This last one is a currest development today on Troopergate. I can say from knowing Walt hes a stand up guy, straight forward, and very fair.....his name being rubbed in the mud was wrong and I am glad to see hes not backing down.

Shhhh.. Don't tell anyone that John McCain has ties to ACORN, and has glorified the work of ACORN in the past (don't be surprised if Obama mentions this tonight).

ACORN is not a subversive/manipulative organization. It is an organization that attempts to encourage people to participate in the political process through voting. McCain's campaign is using ACORN as ascapegoat and excuse to manipulate election law to disqualify hundreds of thousands of voters who are likely to vote for his opponent (ask the people in Ohio). He is desperate, and it shows.

Palin visited Maine recently in a quick visit at the airport. She couldn't bother herself to even come to town. The gathering was planned in a small hangar, but had to be moved to a larger hangar because of the enormous croud that was expected (apparently, they hadn't expected many to show up). They came from all across Maine, and developed into a group of about 6,000 (just about the population of Rumford). If this lack-lustre showing was more than they had expected, it shows that they realize they have little support in Maine and are just going through the process. I always thought there were more than 6,000 republicans in Maine, but then again it is possible that many republicans are not supporting the ticket.

I find almost everything Sarah Palin says condescending and offensive. At times, it's juvenile.

The "far right" is always accusing the SJ of being a "liberal rag". Will they change their "tune"?

It really makes me wonder when all the junk mail I get from the republican party doesn't in any way promote their own candidate. Every piece I get is telling my why I shouldn't vote for Obama- some of it quite ridiculous. Why aren't they using this media to promote their own candidates? Is there nothing to promote?
