I don't know how many of you read the SunJournal community member commentary.  If you don't, you really need to read this one. It's hilarious. This comment, in response to a stolen safe at the new Rails Restaurant in Lewiston, is soooo filled with hate, ignorance, myths, and bigotry, it's ridiculous... laughable.  

What's scary, there are too many out there who think the same way.

Wake up white people!

Say it is not so! black men don't do that it is so racist to say a black man did that, oh no they don't steal, rob and murder, it is police just picking on that poor black man. After all we cant discriminate against any minorities only Americans in this country. If your a born American in this country your rights and beliefs are crap, Christmas is what happy holidays...BS., companies don't want to say merry Christmas anymore, but you tell them we will strike Christmas from the calendar and guess what they will scream all the way to the poor house, for if it was not for this holiday which AMERICANS spend billions on, many of these same businesses would not survive!. So next time the police see a black person or other ethnic person rob, or drive, or violate any other laws they need to look the other way just concentrate on us white folk and if they stop them and find they are here illegally by all means give them food stamps! but if they are here legally and white by all means ticket them, arrest them prove your not a racist... all I can say is what BS this is.

BTW...if you don't like how your favorite retailer observes the "holidays", don't shop there.  After all, it's a free country, and you Tea Party types are all about freedom of choice, are you not?  Or, are you just a bunch of hypocrites?

My name is Jim not Danny but I can answer your question. Black men in America are six times more likely to commit crimes that result in incarceration than white men in America. Lots of reasons have been given for this not the least of which is the personal choice of black women to give birth 72% of the time with no father in the home. Only 29% of white children are born into fatherless homes. Not having a father in the home has massive consequences.

* 63 percent of youth suicides are from fatherless homes
* 90 percent of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes
* 85 percent of all children who show behavior disorders come from fatherless homes
* 80 percent of rapists with anger problems come from fatherless homes
* 71 percent of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes
* 75 percent of all adolescent patients in chemical-abuse centers come from fatherless homes
* 85 percent of all youths in prison come from fatherless homes

72% of black kids are screwed before they are born because of their mother's personal choice to have them with no father in the home.

The solution is just as simple, no matter the race or any other factor, women have to make the personal choice not to have children without there being a father in the home.
