DIRT IN THE GROUND Empty DIRT IN THE GROUND

Post by Alexander Nevsky Tue Dec 09, 2008 11:26 pm

Gonna Be

Мы все Gonna Be

Просто грязь в местах

Зубочистка с канюк

Крови, пишет слово

Я хочу знать, я небо

Или птица

Потому что ад над кипящей

И небеса полны

Мы приковали к миру

И нам всем нужно прижаться

И мы все Gonna Be

Gonna Be

Gonna Be

Грязь в земле

For those who can not speak russian I'll translate

What does it matter, a dream of love
Or a dream of lies
We're all gonna be in the same place
When we die
Your spirit don't leave knowing
Your face or your name
ANd the wind through your bones
Is all that remains
And we're all gonna be
We're all gonna be
Just dirt in the ground
The quill from a buzzard
The blood writes the word
I want to know am I the sky
Or a bird
'Cause hell is boiling over
And heaven is full
We're chained to the world
And we all gotta pull
And we're all gonna be
Just dirt in the ground
Now the killer was smiling
With nerves made of stone
He climbed the stairs
And the gallows groaned
And the people's hearts were pounding
They were throbbing, they were red
As he swung out ofver the crowd
I heard the hangman said

< church lady> Well, Isn't THAT special !!! < /church lady >

I am unsure if this is a Nevsky original, but as it appears to be unattributed, I will presume it is. With the untranslated words, I can only speculate that he did used a translation tool. However, the usage if the foreign language did add to the spirit of the message. As this is one of his first full length posts, I will not speculate as to how it relates to Mr.Nevsky's inner feelings, but if such dark posts persist, I would encourage the writer to seek counseling as it may indicate some feelings of helplessness and depression.

Has anyone ever read any Russian authors such as Dostoyesky, Tolstoy, etc.? I will not speculate as to whether it relates to Mr. Saisi's inner feelings, but if such co-dependent posts persist, I would encourage the writer to seek counseling as it may indicate some feelings of over-responsibility.

Dirt in the ground?? I prefer:

I close my eyes
Only for a moment, then the moment's gone
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind

Same old song
Just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do
Crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind, ohh

Now, don't hang on
Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won't another minute buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind

Dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind
The wind

- Kansas -

It's a better melody and you can dance to it. I'd give it an 85.

Lol...I love that song! Written no doubt by people who haven't experienced the world as writers such as Victor Hugo and Thomas Hardy have (let's not just pick on the Russians)...

Timeout, I have tried several times in the past to read "War and Peace" but I fell asleep every time. Not exactly a page-turner for me. Sleep

Well, I read that stuff in high school - my "dark" period. Now I read books on forestry, gardening and spirituality...just not feeling as much angst in my old age.

I have to say I'm impressed with the Russian linguists. I had five years of French in the Biddeford school system and I still can only ask if Sylvia is at the library. Ou est Sylvie? A la biblioteque? Oh, and I can say I have a headache...j'ai mal a la tete...or wait, is that saying I'm sick in the head?

I'm still impressed. Like I said I grew up in Biddeford which is predominantly French and that didn't help me with the language at all! I only learned to identify the swear words.
