Conservatives beside themselves

Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, after having accepted President Barack Obama's reach from across the isle, are supporting a stimulus bill that may give extra income to Maine's citizens receiving unemployment benefits and may help many Maine schools. Right-wing Conservatives are beside themselves because these two sensible, Maine Republicans recognize that their Republican leadership in the Senate is turning their backs on the American people. The American people support this stimulus bill and recognize that, like securing our financial institutions, this stimulus bill is necessary to secure the economic future of our country. Think about it.

The only "reach" by President Obama is into the wallet of you, your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Collins and Snowe should renounce their Republican affiliation and align themselves with the rest of the tax-and-spend Democrats. This so-called stimulus package will be funded by debt obligations that will linger for generations and will de-value the dollar to the point that we will be like Italy years ago where people carried the Lira around in wheelbarrows to buy simple commodities. But then the government will take care of all our needs, won't it? The government is the answer to all our prayers, isn't it? Get real, T. This is just a giant leap toward socialism where the government controls all.

he can't help having grown up watching the McCarthy hearings, where there is a "RED" behind every corner. Funny, though how that color has changed its connotation.

oh, and by the way, Italy is pretty cool these days.
