Re: NEW TOWN MANAGER HIRED
Can't seem to find his resume online like Len's. Anyone know what his qualifications are for the position?

I guess it wasn't so confidential after all.Carlo Puiia on Fri Apr 24, 2009 wrote: Puiia said he knew as early as Tuesday he'd won the job even though selectmen had to wait until Friday's vote to make it public.
"I knew it would be confidential until they had their official meeting," he said.

I don't think much is confidential in Rumford. I think Carlo will do a fine job.

I think someone would have to request his resume, evidently no one has yet. I'm surprised TRR hasn't done it yet.
Qualified applicants are experienced in budget analysis, financial matters,
personnel management, labor relations, and are excellent communicators.
Applicants should be well versed in economic development as we are a single
industry community. Municipal management experience and a college degree
preferred but individuals with comparable work experience and education are
encouraged to apply as well.
I would imagine he has qualifications similar to Len's... I'm sure the position he is leaving gave him budget/administrative experience. I'm not sure about labor relations, personnel management and economic development. I'm sure we had candidates that were more qualified.

Re: NEW TOWN MANAGER HIRED
I understand there were several very qualified applicants with Town Manager experience and they didn't even get an interview....Hmmm makes one wonder why they even bothered with an interview process when the decision seems to have already been made.

For a lot of reasons, it's important to follow the process even if the decision has already been made (it happens all the time).Enlightened wrote:makes one wonder why they even bothered with an interview process when the decision seems to have already been made.

TRANSPARENCY
The corruption continues and in the meantime the entire town continues to spiral down the drain! This appointment of a long time local that has had his head buried deep in the sand with the others is just what was needed to revive and invigorate this town back up on its feet. I have never seen such a joke of a town governing body in my life. I just keep asking myself how long are the fine citizens of this community going to allow these people to continue to run their town into the ground. If they don't start standing up it will be way too late with many years required to recover from the decisions that these inept individuals continue to make to validate their personal agenda's. Good Luck to us ALL!
