The Tax Plan Empty The Tax Plan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Senator Rand Paul, a conservative maverick who helped kill the latest Republican effort to overturn Obamacare, took issue with President Donald Trumpery’s tax plan on Monday, asking in a tweet if it was really Republican.

“This is a GOP tax plan? Possibly 30 percent of middle class gets a tax hike? I hope the final details are better than this,” the Kentucky Republican said in a statement on Twitter. He cited the results of a recent analysis by the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center think tank.

Concerned about the national debt?  You should be.

An estimate by the nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates Trumpery's tax plan will add $2.2 trillion to the debt over the next ten years. That's on top of projected added debt of about $10 trillion from present policies.

Remember the George W Bush tax cuts and what they did to the debt?

Trumpery's all worried about the corporate tax rate.

Here's a visual of what has happened to the rate from 1947 to 2011.  Reflect on the years of prosperity and draw your own conclusions.
