Pardoning a turkey is tradition for governors in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, following a White House custom that began in 1947.

If that's the case, she should pardon Ted Stevens.

and , as long as we're in the mood for pardoning turkeys, let's let JSN and RT out of the coop.

Re: The Palin Pardon
Ok you guys also do realize the reason this interview made it on youtube? She pardoned a turkey but if you watch the background the guy is killing the turkeys while shes being interviewed. PETA went nuts over it.

... and, according to FOX News, the reporter told Palin what was going on behind her while she was being interviewed.
She was fine with it and let the interview proceed.
Her political skills are about as sharp as a marble.

Re: The Palin Pardon
also, is it just me, or do most people say "Obama, McCain, Clinton...etc" but only the neocon idiots (ok, i do have a few friends in that category) continue to ALWAYS,WITHOUT FAIL refer to that horrendously embarrassing bimbo as GOVERNOR PALIN, as if that lends her more credence. Just a thought.....

Re: The Palin Pardon
Okay, I'm never eating turkey again...why did I watch that video...can you tell I didn't grow up on a farm? And I would have died of starvation if I lived where I had to catch something, kill it and skin it before I could eat it. What was that Kurt Vonnegut book called? Anyone remember?

Re: The Palin Pardon
I heard an ad on the radio yesterday saying people should eat Maine lobster for Thanksgiving this year...maybe I'll go with that - no viscera, no blood.

Oh good! You're back! Hmmm...I was thinking it was Slaughterhouse Five but that's not it...what was that book I read in high school about the butcheries and what was really in the sausage? Go back about 3.5 decades.

Okay, I've got it now..."The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair. Oops, written in 1906 - well, I'm not THAT old. I think he also wrote "Main Street"...a much more palatable book...no, I think that was Sinclair Lewis. Okay, going to bed now.

Re: The Palin Pardon
Well, if you are going to give the wrong author, how can we help you???
BTW: I did go away to a conference at Wentworth by the Sea in New Castle, NH for a few days. Thank you to the taxpayers for footing the bill. I keep telling them to set me up at the Econo-lodge or some flea-bag motel, but they keep sending me to the fancy-schmancy hotels.
Just so that you can prepare yourself, I plan on doing it again in early April. I will be heading to Dallas, Texas for another conference. When I went to Portland, Oregon, my food reimbursement for the week was $35.00, but in Texas, I might just order a steak.
Sorry if my unexplained disappearance caused any concern. The government knew where was. It is difficult to hide from them when you are meeting with an Admiral
